Twenty years ago, Ms. Sharpe and Sister Anne started a drama program at Bishop McGuinness. With Mrs. Sharpe’s experience as an actress and Sister Anne’s love for music and drama, they were able to grow Bishop’s drama program. As students became more involved the drama program began to expand and Bishop began to having 2-3 plays a year and even a drama summer camp. Since then, the program has continued to grow and impact the high school experiences of countless students at Bishop McGuinness.
Our group’s goal was to preserve the drama program at Bishop McGuinness. We also wanted to encourage students to be involved in the drama program and gain more of an interest in it. Being involved in the drama program is an awesome high school experience. We thought that this submission to the Archives would be a great resource for both former drama students and would help get more current students involved. It is because of student involvement that Bishop’s drama program has grown to what it is today. Ms. Sharpe and Sister Anne have devoted much of their time and been dedicated to the drama program since it started. We wanted to thank them and commemorate the program through this project. And we sincerely hope that current students will take this opportunity to learn more about the drama program here at Bishop and perhaps be inspired to become involved with it themselves.
